The quality of education
provided by the
University of the
Sunshine Coast has
received high accolades,
with the 2009 Good
Universities Guide
describing the
University as a
five-star performer.
The annual Guide has
awarded top marks (five
stars) for USC’s staff
qualifications, teaching
quality, graduates’
satisfaction with their
overall university
experience, and their
satisfaction with the
generic skills they
gained while at
university.
USC also scored well
(four stars) for access
by equity groups and for
Indigenous enrolments.
Vice-Chancellor
Professor Paul Thomas AM
said he was delighted
that USC was the only
public university in
Queensland to gain five
stars for graduates'
satisfaction with their
educational experience.
“Our focus has always
been on providing
quality education
because we believe it is
essential for this
region as it continues
to grow,” he said.

“The Guide also has
again reflected how so
many graduates
appreciate the strong
support services
provided by USC staff.”
The Good Universities
Guide, produced by
Hobsons, bases its
ratings on data from the
Commonwealth Department
of Education, Employment
and Workplace Relations
and the results of the
Australian Graduate
Surveys.
Hobsons Data Services
Manager Richard Evered
congratulated USC on
rating in the top 20
percent nationally for
four important areas.
“USC’s graduates are
among the country’s most
satisfied with their
overall university
experience and boast
excellent generic
skills,” he said.
“USC scores five stars
for staff qualifications
and teaching quality and
scores very well for
access and equity.”
